THE FOUNDATION OF RECIRCULATION PARAMETERS IN SYSTEMS CAR WASH WATER SUPPLY
Main Article Content
Abstract
Summary. The work carried out a quantitative assessment of water consumption for washing a vehicle at car washes operating on the principle of self-service, determined the qualitative indicators of runoff, defined the requirements for treated wastewater to participate in the recycling cycle, listed the requirements for wastewater for release into the urban sewer network. The existing technological schemes of wastewater treatment formed from washing cars are considered. Field observations and laboratory analyses were performed to determine the actual content of suspended substances. For local treatment facilities, a technological scheme has been developed for the treatment of wastewater generated from washing motor vehicles at car washes operating on the principle of self-service.
Subject of research: Technological scheme of wastewater treatment formed from washing motor vehicles at car washes operating on the principle of self-service.
Materials and methods: Field observations and laboratory analyses to determine the actual content of suspended solids in the wastewater of self-service car washes. The initial concentration of suspended solids in wastewater is determined by the weight method. Sedimentation analysis under static conditions was performed to obtain contamination parameters for the selection of physico-chemical methods of wastewater treatment formed from washing motor vehicles. A series of trial coagulation showed that physico-chemical methods ensure the treatment of wastewater generated from washing motor vehicles.
Results: It was found that the wastewater treatment system of a car wash in water circulation schemes should ensure the water quality acceptable for subsequent washing of vehicles. The main parameters of the studied wastewater of self-service car washes are determined: the initial concentration of suspended solids, the sedimentation curve under static conditions. The dependence of the efficiency of deposition of pollutants on the duration of settling was experimentally established, and trial coagulation was performed, which was the basis for the development of a technological scheme for wastewater treatment formed from washing motor vehicles at car washes operating on the principle of self-service.
Conclusions: A quantitative assessment of water consumption for washing a vehicle at self-service car washes was carried out, qualitative indicators of wastewater were determined, requirements for purified wastewater to participate in the recycling cycle were determined, field observations and laboratory analyses were carried out, the results of which allowed to develop a technological scheme for wastewater treatment formed from washing motor vehicles at car washes operating on the principle of self-service.
