TITLE ANALYSIS OF PROBLEMATIC SITUATIONS IN THE TRANSFORMATION OF PUBLIC SPACES TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE GROWTH OF POPULATION MOBILITY

Abstract
The purpose of the study is to identify the main problems of urban public spaces, their transformation taking into account the growth of the population's bicycle mobility and the creation of the necessary bicycle transport infrastructure.
Scientific novelty. The analysis of problematic situations in the transformation of public spaces, taking into account the growth of bicycle mobility of the population, is very important for making decisions to improve urban infrastructure and create a comfortable urban environment. The analysis should take into account the following criteria of the urban environment: the level of safety for all traffic participants, the level of accessibility, the level of attractiveness and points of attraction for all participants and users of these spaces. This will allow us to understand how the use and development of public spaces is changing and how this affects urban infrastructure. The qualitative characteristics of the architectural and spatial environment largely dictate the lifestyle of the population, creating the benefits of infrastructure, increasing the comfort and quality of life of the population, and at the level of consciousness, determine the attitudes and perception of spaces.As a result of the work, problematic situations are analyzed and solutions are proposed, a concept of transformation of public spaces, a variant of landscaping of these territories is proposed.
Subject of research: The transformation and activation of public spaces for cyclists, the convenience and functionality of bicycle routes.
Materials and methods: In the course of the study, scientific materials and articles on the topic of transformation of public spaces were studied. To identify the patterns of development of different territories of public spaces, the method of comparative analysis is used. The paper analyzes theoretical and practical materials concerning the object of research, and draws conclusions. In the process of selecting materials on the topic of publication and analyzing the results obtained, methods were applied: deduction, theoretical analysis and synthesis, the method of analogy.
Results: After analyzing international experience, it was revealed that the concept of transforming public spaces of cities, aimed at ensuring the possibility of comfortable stay and movement of pedestrians and cyclists, the development of bicycle infrastructure and its connection with other green areas and public spaces of the city, will be possible with the competent organization of an action plan based on world and domestic experience, the latest educational developments, taking into account the requirements and desires of the residents of the city. The development of bicycle infrastructure is an important step towards the sustainable development of the city and improving the quality of life of its residents. The main directions of development are the process of creating convenient and safe conditions for cycling in the city or in another locality. Such infrastructure includes bike paths, bicycle parking, special traffic lights and signs, as well as other engineering solutions that take into account the needs of cyclists. The main advantages are identified – firstly, the reduction of traffic jams and environmental pollution. Cyclists do not use gasoline and do not emit harmful substances, which makes a significant contribution to environmental protection. Secondly, the development of cycling infrastructure contributes to a healthy lifestyle. Cyclists get physical activity that is good for their health. Thirdly, cyclists can reach their destinations faster, as bicycles can bypass traffic jams and move along bike paths.
Conclusions: When analyzing the experience of designing, transforming and reconstructing public spaces, including bicycle and transport infrastructure facilities, it was revealed that large open spaces with various points with social services, parking points and landscaped territories favorably affect the increase in the percentage of the bicycle-mobile population; The infrastructural filling of public space, where transport and tourist infrastructure facilities, commercial facilities, and elements of free use are integrated into the street environment, also have a good effect on the interest of urban residents in public spaces;
It is also important to create urban transits for the bicycle-mobile population, spaces interacting with adjacent buildings, which are a logical continuation of the environment and ensuring the safety of these spaces and transits for the bicycle-mobile population.
